Curriculum

Early Literacy and Reading:

Our school uses HMH Into Reading (Version 3), a research-based literacy program designed to help students become strong, confident readers and writers. The program follows the Science of Reading and provides explicit, systematic instruction in phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, and writing.

Students learn through engaging stories, high-quality texts, and structured daily routines. Lessons include whole-group instruction, small-group differentiated practice, opportunities to talk and write about what they read, and a guided lesson in correct letter formation for print and cursive writing.

Math:

At Hope-Hill Elementary, our math instruction is grounded in EnVision Mathematics and supported by high-quality lessons and resources from the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE). Through these aligned instructional tools, students build a strong foundation in mathematical thinking, problem-solving, and real-world applications.

Our program emphasizes:

  • Conceptual understanding and critical reasoning

  • Hands-on tasks, visual models, and interactive learning opportunities

  • Small-group instruction and differentiated support

  • Real-world connections aligned to Georgia Standards of Excellence (GSE)

By integrating EnVision lessons with GADOE instructional resources, we ensure that every student receives rigorous, standards-aligned math instruction that promotes confidence, perseverance, and academic growth.

Social Studies:

In addition to the resources from the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE), Hope-Hill utilizes Gallopade lessons for our Social Studies instruction.  Gallopade is an engaging, Georgia-specific social studies curriculum that uses primary sources, interactive activities, and historical thinking skills to bring history to life for students. It goes beyond simple memorization, encouraging students to actively explore Georgia's rich history, geography, and civic life through hands-on lessons and creative projects.

Supplemental Program:

Hope-Hill also utilizes i-Ready, an online program that uses an adaptive diagnostic assessment to find students' strengths and needs in reading and math.  It provides teachers and students with personalized, interactive lessons tailored to each student's individual growth needs.
